DERBY RULES

1.       All Applicants must adhere to all Washington State Fishing Laws and Regulations

2.       All contestants in any boat participating in the derby must have a derby ticket, and contestants wishing to be eligible for Adult/Youth team Derby must have a youth 14 years of age or under fishing in the same boat and attend the awards ceremony together.

3.       Total combined weight of Adult/Youth Team event fish caught and weighed in will determine the winners of this team event.

4.       Only one General Prize winner per-ticket, plus special prizes. To be eligible for prizes individuals must have in possession a 14th Annual Derby Ticket. Duplicate ticket numbers registered will not be allowed except for registering a larger fish.

5.       It will be the responsibility of participants to ensure registration in the Northwest Marine Trade Association give away at the Coho Salmon Derby September 12, 2009.

6.       Derby fish can only be caught in Areas 11 and 13, between daylight and 2 PM August 8, 2009. All fish must be transported by boat, via water, to one of the official weight stations: Point Defiance Boat House, Narrows Bait and Tackle Dock, Gig Harbor Boat Launch or Des Moines Marina.

7.       All Derby fish must be weighed, marked and logged in at a designated weigh station by derby officials and derby log signed by contestants to be eligible for awards.

8.       Weigh Stations will operate 8 AM to 2 PM. Weigh-in times will be determined by cell phone times. Weigh-in of fish entries will stop at 2 PM.

9.       Any Fish that appears altered in any way or not legally caught on August 8, 2009 will be disqualified without recourse. Decision or Derby Officials is final.

10.   In case of a tie in any event, the time of earliest fish weigh-in will determine the winner.

11.   Attendance at the awards and photo ceremony is required to receive prizes and be eligible for raffle prizes. We request that winners bring their fish to awards ceremony for pictures.

12.   With the purchase of a Derby Ticket, persons entering the Derby and/or providing assistance to the Derby Officials or contestants do so of their own free will and thereby agree to hold the sponsors harmless for damages or claims which may arise.

13.   Persons that purchase a derby ticket do not need to fish in the derby to be eligible for raffle prizes to be drawn at random, but must be at the awards ceremony to win.

14.   Free Youth tickets are for Youth prizes only. If a youth wants to fish for the main prizes or team prize, the Youth must have a paid Derby Ticket.

15.   It is recommended that you bring a chair to the BBQ.
