Presidents Message
from Rich Silva
Hello Everyone;
As most of you know, our President Rich Silva has had back surgery so I
will assume his responsibilities while he recovers. He says that he doing fine
and he thinks that he will be back for our Christmas Party.
Our September meeting went well, our guest speaker was Robin Nelson from
Green Water Guide Service. He had some good tips, I hope that you were listening
and I hope to try these soon.
Next month Roger has lined up Peter Ricks from Anchor Marine to speak
about small boat offshore tuna fishing and boat insurance.
For our membership drawing we drew #78, Tony Moore and he was not
present. So we will draw for $80 at our next meeting.
Our quarterly drawing was won by Larry Hart, so he will receive a guided
trip for two.
Our annual picnic at Owens Beach was on the 14th. The weather was nice
and chowder contest was won by the now 3 time winner Chris Trembly, he takes
$100 with him. Second place went to Brandi Olsen for $75 and third went to Ginny
Dixon for $50. All of the chowders were very good because we ate up all of them.
Rich and Val Silva did show up to have a bite and enjoy the picnic. I want to
say Thank You to all of the volunteers that helped out.
We will have nominations for our 2009 officers at the next meeting, so if
you know of anybody that would like to be nominated be there to do so.
